Again this year I am facilitating an 8 week ‘Mindfulness for Health’ course (Mindfulness-based stress-reduction and pain-management) at the Risingholme Community centre in Opawa. Tel (03) 332 7359.

The Course runs on Wednesday evenings from 6.00pm to 8.00pm, and includes a Course booklet and free downloads for guided mindfulness-meditations. The course fee is kept as low as possible at $95 for the full 8 weeks, including all materials. The Course start dates for 2014 are:

There is also a one day ‘Introduction to Mindfulness’ day on Sunday 9th February, and other Sundays later in 2014, 11.00am to 4.00pm. Cost $40. This day will be suitable for anyone interested in Mindfulness, who may not be able to attend the eight week course (or anyone living outside of Christchurch) or to get a better idea of the material covered before enrolling on the 8 week course on Wednesday evenings.

for Osteopaths in UK (and Ireland) LSO cohort of 2005, and NZ immigration pathway

The Immigration pathway is a little tighter than previously, and now any osteo coming here needs a 'proper' job, i.e. to be employed for miniumum 30 hours per week. This can be split over two or more clinics, but someone has to 'sponser' you, i.e. officially be your 'employer'.

A bit of a problem for me - if I only need a 'part-timer' as an assoicate, to start with.

Still, if anyone you know is thinking of coming here - I can tell them the best people to contact (submit a CV) to find a prospective 'employer' to naviagate the immigration route.

Stiofan is now in Australia - after having been chairman of OCNZ for several years.

Steve Mc Cann, and Neil Alladance (LSO, one year ahead of us) are both here near Christchurch.

Well it seems summer is definitely here - with the wet weather from last week now over, and a strong Northwester here in Canterbury, and perhaps some of the best weather in the whole of NZ.

I will be on retreat in Sydney from Monday (6th January) until Monday 20th Janaury. If you need to book there are still a few appointments left tomorrow (Saturday 4th) and Monday morning (6th).
